IDF says it finished clearing Hezbollah tunnels from Ali al-Taher Ridge

The Israel Defense Forces announced its 36th Division completed clearing Hezbollah fighters from two underground tunnel routes beneath the Ali al-Taher Ridge in Lebanon's Nabatieh District, a fortified position overlooking the Litani River that Hezbollah had used to target Israeli forces and northern Israeli communities. The IDF said it achieved operational control above and below ground after a months-long siege, with some Hezbollah personnel killed and others fleeing, and the facility is being prepared for demolition.

Why this matters. Losing the Ali al-Taher stronghold removes Hezbollah's last major fortified terrain overlooking the Litani River, strengthening Israel's negotiating position in the U.S.-brokered talks that condition any Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon on Hezbollah's disarmament.
