Iraq and Iran say some Iraqi oil ships were allowed through Hormuz

Iraqi President Nizar Amidi said Iran had facilitated passage for some ships carrying Iraqi oil. Iran's IRNA said a number of Iraqi oil tankers had been permitted to transit; neither government disclosed how many ships passed or whether Iran received anything in return.

Why this matters. Selective passage shows Tehran applying vessel-by-vessel control rather than reopening the waterway, with Iraqi exports receiving an exception whose terms remain opaque.
