Iran strikes US-linked air bases in Kuwait and UAE with missiles and drones

Iran's military said via state TV it struck Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait, hitting satellite communication systems, equipment depots and fighter aircraft hangars, and hit Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE, targeting forces and radar systems. Kuwait's Armed Forces confirmed air defenses were 'confronting hostile missile and drone attacks' from Iran, and Kuwait's foreign ministry called the strikes 'a direct threat to its security and stability, and...a grave breach of international law.' No casualties were reported.

Why this matters. A direct Iranian strike on US-linked bases in two Gulf Arab states not previously targeted at this scale raises the risk of US or Gulf-state retaliation and could draw Kuwait and the UAE more directly into the conflict.
