Saudi foreign minister demands Hormuz return to pre-war conditions with no fees

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan told the U.N. General Assembly that attempts to block regional waterways threaten global energy security and demanded that conditions in the Strait of Hormuz return to those before Feb. 28, without fees or taxes on shipping.

Why this matters. Riyadh is publicly rejecting any arrangement that would let Iran charge for passage, a constraint on the terms Washington and Tehran are discussing.
