Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad, received by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir, at the start of a tour to Pakistan, Oman and Russia; the White House said Witkoff and Kushner would fly to Pakistan the next morning, with Vance on standby. Iran’s Foreign Ministry said no meeting with U.S. officials was planned and Pakistan would relay messages.

Why it matters

It was the first attempt at a second round since the ceasefire was extended, but the two sides disagreed publicly over whether they would meet.
