CENTCOM said U.S. forces had lifted the blockade on all maritime traffic entering and leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas 'in accordance with the President's direction', while U.S. warships stay in the region to ensure the agreement is adhered to. Vance said the 60-day negotiating period began that day and that 12.5 million barrels of oil had passed through Hormuz since the signing.
