EU weighs delaying methane rules for imported oil and gas

The European Union is considering postponing by up to one year methane-monitoring and reporting requirements for imported oil and gas that are due to begin on January 1, 2027, OilPrice.com reported. Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen said officials were examining a delay to the import provisions rather than weakening the rules.
