Central Command said three U.S. service members had been killed in action and five seriously wounded as of 9:30 a.m. ET, the first American deaths of the war, with others suffering minor shrapnel injuries and concussions. A person familiar with the matter said the dead were Army soldiers from a logistics unit in Kuwait.
