Iran says Hormuz transit understanding with Oman hinges on US meeting its commitments

Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran and Oman had reached an understanding on transit through the Strait of Hormuz but it would "not automatically enter the implementation stage" until the US fulfils its commitments. He said the strait "remains closed" and any passage requires Iran's coordination and authorization.
Why it matters
It confirms the Oman arrangement will not reopen the strait on its own and ties any reopening to the stalled US-Iran track that Qatar and Pakistan are mediating.
