Preliminary Kpler data showed five commodity vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz on Aug 25, against a 10-day average of 15 and four on Aug 24: two LPG tankers and a bitumen tanker left the Gulf and two empty product tankers entered. Before the war more than 100 vessels crossed daily, Al Jazeera noted.
Why it matters
Kpler counts can rise as ships with transponders off are logged; ING said even an Iran-Oman deal would not normalize flows unless the U.S. lifts its blockade and eases sanctions.
