Houthis fire ballistic missiles at Yanbu and Taif as Saudi alerts reach Mecca and Jeddah

Saudi Civil Defence issued brief danger alerts for Mecca, Jeddah, Yanbu, Taif and Tabuk, and the Saudi-led coalition said it destroyed six ballistic missiles fired by the Houthis toward Yanbu and Taif. Greek security sources told Reuters a Greek-operated Patriot battery intercepted a ballistic missile and a drone in the Yanbu area, home to major refineries.
Why it matters
Yanbu is Saudi Arabia's Red Sea outlet for crude that bypasses Hormuz, and the barrage briefly pushed Brent up about 5% to $108.23.
