An Al Jazeera journalist and a police official reported a powerful explosion in Aden, with smoke rising near the international airport. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree claimed a ballistic missile struck a Saudi-led coalition operations room at Badr camp. Neither Yemen's government nor the coalition immediately confirmed the claimed target or damage.
Why it matters
The explosion places military facilities near Aden's international airport under renewed threat; confirmation of damage would determine the effect on coalition operations.
