A Houthi official said the United States would face a swift, painful response if it entered the Yemen war, after reports that Saudi Arabia had requested U.S. help against the group.
Why it matters
The warning raises the potential cost of a U.S. decision to join Saudi operations and signals that U.S. forces could become a direct target if Washington intervenes.
