The International Organization for Migration said more than 200,000 people have been displaced in Yemen since fighting escalated in recent weeks, up from 76,000 in mid-September. It said more than 3,700 people had fled by sea to Djibouti.

Why it matters

The displacement surge adds an immediate humanitarian and cross-border burden as fighting around Yemen's Red Sea coast and interior expands.
