A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Qatar had brought Tehran "unacceptable" ideas, denying that mediators had presented a new peace proposal. The official said Tehran would show no flexibility on the nuclear issue. CBS News carried the remarks in its live coverage.
Why it matters
The rejection creates an obstacle to Qatar's effort to negotiate an end to the war, particularly over nuclear terms.
