Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said Iran would target oil facilities, undersea cables, data centres and AI facilities across up to seven Gulf countries if the United States and Israel launch renewed attacks, according to the Guardian.
Why it matters
The threat expands Iran’s stated retaliation targets beyond military assets to energy and digital infrastructure in Gulf states hosting U.S. forces.
