Iraq allows Iranian airlines up to 40 daily Najaf flights under U.S. waiver

Iraq said it will allow Iranian airlines, excluding Mahan Air, to operate up to 40 daily flights to and from Najaf International Airport after Washington granted a sanctions exemption, according to Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s office.
Why it matters
The waiver restores a significant Iran-Iraq air link that had been disrupted when ground-handling firms stopped servicing Iranian aircraft over U.S. sanctions exposure.
