Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi arrived in Damascus and met Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. Iraq's state news agency said they discussed exporting Iraqi oil through the Baniyas line, expanding trade and security cooperation.
Why it matters
The talks concern a potential overland export route for Iraqi crude through Syria as regional shipping disruptions constrain energy logistics.
