Middle East LNG exports remain more than 75% below their prewar level as only occasional cargoes pass through the Strait of Hormuz, OilPrice.com reported. Qatar, previously the world’s second-largest LNG producer, is barely moving carriers through the passage, according to the report.

Why it matters

The reduced flows constrain LNG available to Asian and European buyers and complicate winter gas procurement, particularly for importers reliant on spot cargoes.
