In a written statement read on state media for National Persian Gulf Day, Iran's new supreme leader said a 'new chapter' was emerging in the Gulf and Hormuz and that Iranians would protect their nuclear and missile capabilities 'like water, land and air borders'. President Pezeshkian later called the US blockade 'an extension of military operations' and 'intolerable'.
