UKMTO said a cargo ship about 40 nautical miles southeast of Iraq's Umm Qasr was hit by an unknown projectile that caused a large explosion, and Iraqi officials said a drone caused the blast and the fire was brought under control with no casualties. The IRGC said it targeted the 'US-owned', Panama-flagged MSC Sariska V with a cruise missile; MSC confirmed the ship was struck by two projectiles and called the attack 'completely unjustified', saying it is a neutral Swiss-based carrier.
