Netanyahu’s office said he instructed the army “to vigorously attack Hezbollah targets in Lebanon” after Hezbollah rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel and troops in southern Lebanon that caused no injuries. Earlier that day Israeli strikes killed at least six people Israel said were militants.
Why it matters
The order two days into the extended truce signalled Israel’s readiness to escalate in Lebanon without formally ending the ceasefire.
