Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said investigators had found that the Flydubai co-pilot accused of stabbing the captain and trying to take control of the Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight had undergone “Islamist radical indoctrination.” The co-pilot remains under questioning in Saudi Arabia; UAE authorities are investigating whether the incident had a terrorist link.
Why it matters
The statement adds an Israeli government terrorism assessment to an investigation that could drive additional security measures for flights involving Israel and the Gulf.
