Reuters says Oman halted Mina al-Fahal loading after a blast; operator says port is normal

Reuters, citing three sources, reported that Oman suspended crude loading at its main Mina al-Fahal export terminal after an explosion between two single-buoy mooring berths that the sources attributed to a drone attack. Petroleum Development Oman later said operations at the port were proceeding normally; the terminal exports 800,000 to 900,000 barrels a day.

Why it matters

The terminal sits on the Gulf of Oman outside Hormuz, and several supertankers were seen anchored off the port as the conflicting accounts emerged.
