Rezaei says any country backing the U.S. 'economic war' on Iran commits 'an act of war'

A day after his television interview, security council secretary Mohsen Rezaei wrote on X: 'If the economic war continues, not a single drop of oil will be exported, neither through the Strait of Hormuz nor from anywhere in the Persian Gulf. Iran will regard any country's participation in or support for America's economic war against the Iranian people as an act of war.'
Why it matters
He posted it hours before Treasury was due to announce its new measures, putting Gulf states that enforce U.S. sanctions on notice.
