Saudi Arabia says it intercepted three drones launched from Iraq

Saudi Defence Ministry spokesman Turki al-Maliki said three drones launched from Iraq that morning were intercepted and destroyed after entering Saudi airspace, and that the kingdom reserved the right to respond. Iraq's Foreign Ministry said its air defences had detected no launches and asked Riyadh to share information.

Why it matters

With the UAE later tracing the Barakah drones to Iraq as well, the incidents pointed to Iraq-based launches against Gulf states during the U.S.-Iran truce.
