Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed an agreement under which 'any armed attack against any one of the three States shall be regarded as an attack against them all.' Iranian lawmakers said a 'paper agreement' would not give Saudi Arabia security.
Why it matters
It binds nuclear-armed Pakistan and NATO member Turkey to Saudi Arabia's defense while the kingdom faces Houthi attacks and drones launched from Iraq.
