The Terrorist Financing Targeting Center, which groups the U.S. with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, jointly designated five entities and 16 individuals in Hezbollah's financial infrastructure, including its Al-Qard Al-Hassan lending institution, Bayt al-Mal and their senior leaders.
Why it matters
It added Gulf pressure on Hezbollah's finances days after the Israel-Lebanon framework made the group's disarmament the condition for Israeli withdrawal.
