Al Jazeera reports that President Donald Trump ruled out strikes on Iran “today.” The statement narrows the immediate prospect of U.S. military action after his earlier comments that an attack or a deal were both possible.
Why it matters
Trump’s statement provides a short-term limit on the threatened U.S. attack, but does not establish a ceasefire or rule out later strikes.
