Lebanon's presidency said Hezbollah accepted a U.S. proposal for a reciprocal halt, with no Israeli strikes on Beirut's southern suburbs in exchange for no Hezbollah attacks on Israel, while Netanyahu said the army would keep operating 'as planned' in south Lebanon.

Why it matters
