Trump signed the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 (H.R. 5334), which extends the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996 by five years to 2031 and adds sanctions and tariffs on Russia; the House passed it on Wednesday after Senate approval in August.
Why it matters
The law locks in core US sanctions on Iran well beyond the war, complicating any sanctions relief in a deal.
