Trump warns Iran it will be hit 'twenty times harder' if it stops Hormuz oil flows

Trump posted that if Iran "does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz" it would be hit "TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far," threatening targets that would make it "virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation." At a news conference earlier Monday he warned Iran would pay an "incalculable" price.

Why it matters

With commercial traffic through the strait already all but stopped, the warning set up a direct test of U.S. escalation threats against Iran's leverage over Gulf oil.
