The UK average diesel price reached 199.18p a litre, exceeding its June 2022 record of 199.09p, the Guardian reported. The RAC said filling an average family diesel car now costs almost £110, about £31 more than at the start of the US-Iran conflict.
Why it matters
Higher diesel costs feed directly into road-haulage and delivery costs, increasing the likelihood of further consumer-price pressure in the UK.
