UN peacekeeper killed as projectile hits UNIFIL position in southern Lebanon

UNIFIL said a peacekeeper was killed and another critically injured when a projectile exploded at its position near Adchit al-Qusayr, and that the projectile's origin was unknown. Indonesia said the dead soldier was Indonesian and that three others were wounded by what it called indirect artillery fire.

Why it matters

UNIFIL positions had been hit several times since March 2, and the death came as Israel's widening ground push moved through the area the force patrols.
