A Pentagon spokesperson confirmed that all U.S. bombers deployed to RAF Fairford in the United Kingdom returned to their home stations in the United States after a security incident near the base.
Why it matters
RAF Fairford has supported U.S. bomber operations connected to the Iran war; removing the aircraft shifts any bomber missions back to launches from the continental United States.
