Yemen’s internationally recognised government said 14 Iranian Revolutionary Guard personnel and seven Hezbollah members were deployed to help the Houthis plan and manage military operations. Interior Minister Ibrahim Haidan said their stated roles include missile and drone operations, naval coordination, selecting commercial-ship targets, and mine-laying training.
Why it matters
The accusation links Iranian and Hezbollah personnel to Houthi naval targeting and mine warfare, adding a stated basis for heightened shipping-security measures around the Bab al-Mandeb and Red Sea.
