Brent rose about 2% to $99.05 a barrel in early Tuesday trading after closing Monday at $97.92, and WTI rose 2.8% to $94.04, after US officials told The Wall Street Journal Iran had tried to attack Navy ships on Monday following a weekend missile attack on a carrier. No US ships were hit.
