OilPrice.com reported Brent crude trading at $114.00 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate at $100.40. The report attributed market pressure to Houthi attacks threatening Saudi energy infrastructure, Libyan supply disruptions and fears of renewed U.S.-Iran hostilities.

Why it matters

The quoted Brent price is $2 above the $112 level previously recorded on the board, raising crude acquisition costs for refiners and importers.
