Israeli security forces killed two suspected Palestinian gunmen after a shooting at a military checkpoint near Hebron wounded five Israelis. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered forces to cordon off Hebron and prepare a full closure of the occupied West Bank later Friday.
Why it matters
The closure can restrict movement across the West Bank and raises the prospect of further security operations days before Israel's election.
