Foreign ministers from the UK, France, Germany, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt and Italy met in Istanbul and called for restraint and diplomacy rather than further U.S. attacks on Iran. They also backed efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and protect navigation.
Why it matters
The joint position creates a coordinated diplomatic push against another strike and makes reopening Hormuz a stated priority for European and regional governments.
