Drones set fires at Kuwait's Mina al-Ahmadi refinery and hit a desalination plant

Kuwait Petroleum Corp. said Iranian drones sparked fires in several operating units of the Mina al-Ahmadi refinery, with no injuries, the third attack on the refinery in two weeks according to KUNA; Kuwait's electricity and water ministry later said an attack damaged parts of a combined power and desalination plant. The IRGC denied striking Kuwait's desalination plants and blamed Israel.

Why it matters

Kuwait relies on desalination for about 90% of its fresh water, and its refineries must keep running for its oil wells to keep producing, CBS and AP noted.
