Debris fire shuts UAE's Habshan gas plant, killing one; EGA smelter offline for a year

Abu Dhabi's media office said debris from an intercepted Iranian attack set the Habshan gas-processing complex ablaze and operations were suspended; one Egyptian worker was killed, four others were injured and the site was significantly damaged. Emirates Global Aluminium separately said Iranian attacks had forced the shutdown of its Al Taweelah smelter, with full recovery potentially taking up to 12 months.

Habshan is a major Emirati gas processing complex and Al Taweelah one of the region's largest aluminium smelters, carrying the damage from Iran's retaliation into UAE industrial supply.
