The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that commercial crude inventories fell by 900,000 barrels in the week ending October 30, to 409.8 million barrels. OilPrice.com said the level was 4% below the five-year average and total commercial petroleum inventories fell by 8.2 million barrels.
Why it matters
Lower U.S. commercial stocks provide less inventory cushion while Middle East shipping and supply routes remain disrupted.
