U.S.-Iran talks in Geneva end with "significant progress" and no deal, Oman says

Oman's foreign minister Badr al-Busaidi said the third round of indirect talks between U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and Iran's Abbas Araghchi had ended with "significant progress" and would resume soon, with technical talks in Vienna the following week. Araghchi called it one of the "most intense and longest" rounds.

Why it matters

Neither Washington nor Tehran gave a readout, and analysts had warned that ending without a deal could trigger U.S. military action; two days later the strikes began.
