The world's largest aircraft carrier was towed out of the U.S. naval base at Souda Bay after a stopover of a few days and headed for the Middle East, joining the USS Abraham Lincoln in a buildup Trump calls an "armada."
Why it matters
The Ford put a second U.S. carrier strike group within reach of Iran as the third round of indirect nuclear talks began, the pairing that later launched the opening strikes.
