Houthi authorities said Saudi-led coalition air strikes hit al-Hadara market in al-Waziiya district, Taiz, killing at least 30 civilians and injuring eight. Yemen’s government forces said the Houthis struck the market with ballistic missiles. Al Jazeera reported that neither account had been independently confirmed and that the Saudi-led coalition had not responded.
Why it matters
The disputed strike adds civilian-casualty pressure to fighting around the strategic al-Waziiya mountain area, where Saudi-led coalition operations against the Iran-aligned Houthis are continuing.
