IAEA says no sign Iran's nuclear sites are hit as Tehran alleges Natanz was targeted

Opening a special board session in Vienna, IAEA chief Rafael Grossi said the agency had no indication that Bushehr, the Tehran Research Reactor or other nuclear facilities had been damaged and no rise in radiation had been detected in neighboring countries, but Iran's regulator was not responding. Iran's envoy Reza Najafi said the strikes had targeted the Natanz enrichment site.

Why it matters

With the agency cut off from Iranian authorities, claims about strikes on nuclear sites could not be verified, and Grossi warned a radiological release with serious consequences could not be ruled out.
