Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says talks are under way on a plan reached by Iran and Qatar to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days if the United States meets Tehran’s conditions, Al Jazeera reports. The available report does not specify those conditions or establish that reopening has begun.
Why it matters
The proposal makes a two-day reopening of the shipping passage contingent on U.S. acceptance of Tehran’s conditions; it is not confirmation that ships can resume transit.
