U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Donald Trump had not made a decision on renewed military action against Iran, while saying Washington could achieve its military objectives if it chose to act.
Why it matters
The statement leaves U.S. military action unresolved while indirect Qatar-mediated contacts with Iran continue, affecting decisions by regional governments and commercial operators on whether to prepare for renewed fighting.
