CBO: Iran war has cost $38 billion and drained up to two-thirds of key interceptors

The Congressional Budget Office estimated the war cost about $38 billion through August, rising about $3 billion a month, mostly from munitions use; it said the US had used half to two-thirds of several key interceptor inventories (Patriot, THAAD, SM-3, SM-6), that restocking could take five years, and that the war would add 0.5 point to inflation in early 2027.
